Trojan Youth Soccer ONLY plays in Fall Soccer. Signups usually occur in later Spring (April/May) with the season starting with practices in July and Games August through early October. We advertise signups on our Facebook page, through local Facebook groups and also attempt to sent flyers out through all local schools (some schools require kids to pick up in office if interested).

All Teams receive Snack packs after every home game compliments of Trojan Youth Soccer.

Trojan Youth Soccer – Fall Playing Formats


U4 – Play 4v4 games (or however many can stay on the field) - 8 League games in Sunman – No Tournament, no travel
  • 4 – 5-minute quarters
  •  Always COED
  •  For Kids turning 2 or 3 before 12/31 of this year
  •  Size 3 Ball
  •  Coaches on field to assist – no referees – keep relaxed and fun
  •  No throw-ins – all restarts are indirect kicks
  •  No Goalkeepers – keep all players involved in play
  •  If fewer than 6 players present for one team, play on one field and rotate players constantly.
  •  If more than 6 players present for both teams then play 2, simultaneous games of 3v3 or 4v4.
  •  When playing two simultaneous games, move players from field to field to keep games as fair and even as possible. 
  •  If all else fails, play sharks and minnows or red-light, green-light.  Have fun!

U6 Boys and Girls - 8 League games in Sunman – No Tournament, no travel
  • For Kids turning 4 or 5 before 12/31 of this year
  • Always COED
  • 4 – 8-minute quarters
  • Size 3 Ball
  • All games are 4v4 – No Goal Keepers – suggest 2 defenders and 2 attackers
  • No offsides – all fouls are indirect free kicks
  • U6 does do corners and throw ins

U8 Boys and Girls – 8 League games in Sunman – No Tournament, no travel
  • For Kids turning 6 or 7 before 12/31 of this year
  • Always COED
  • 4 - 12-minute quarters
  • Size 3 Ball
  • All games are 6v6 – 5 field players and one keeper – suggest 2 defenders and 3 attackers
  • No offsides – all fouls are indirect free kicks
  • Just one area – keeper area – all free kicks by defense in area can be taken from anywhere in or on the area.  Keeper can use hands only in the area, and CAN pick up a ball passed by teammates, whether kicked or thrown in.
  •  U8 will use “build out lines” again this season. See attached build out line rules. 
  •  No heading

U10 Boys and Girls – 8 League games – Travel to Batesville and Greensburg and Year End Tournament (seeded or non-seeded)
  • For Kids turning 8 or 9 before 12/31 of this year
  • Can be Coed or separate Boy/Girl depending on registration numbers - Indiana Soccer prefers separate team
  • 4 - 15-minute quarters
  • Size 4 Ball
  • Team sizes are TBD based on # of registrations and coordination with other leagues we compete against
  • Offsides will be called, but not tightly.  Players will be given a little room (discretion of the referee)
  • Keepers CAN pick up the ball when passed by a teammate, whether kicked or thrown
  • U10 will use “build out lines”. See attached build out line rules. 
  • Goalies cannot drop kick the ball
  • U10 will use “build out lines” again this season. See attached build out line rules. 
  • No heading


U12 Boys and Girls – 8 League games - Travel to Batesville and Greensburg and Year End Tournament (seeded or non-seeded)
  • For Kids turning 10 or 11 before 12/31 of this year
  • Can be Coed or separate Boy/Girl depending on registration numbers - Indiana Soccer prefers separate teams 
  • 2 - 30-minute halves
  • Size 4 Ball
  • Team sizes are TBD based on # of registrations and coordination with other leagues we compete against
  • Games will be played by the standard laws/rules of soccer
  • Goalies can drop kick the ball

U14 Boys and Girls – 8 League games - Travel to Batesville and Greensburg and Year End Tournament (seeded or non-seeded)
  • For Kids turning 12 or 13 before 12/31 of this year. 14 year olds are allowed to play in league if they will NOT be in high school in the fall. You might have to reach out to league in order to get exception to register 14 year old for league.
  • Can be Coed or separate Boy/Girl depending on registration numbers - Indiana Soccer prefers separate teams 
  • 2 30-minute halves
  • Size 5 Ball
  • Team sizes are TBD based on # of registrations and coordination with other leagues we compete against
  • Games will be played by the standard laws/rules of soccer
  • Goalies can drop kick the ball
